Deni Brave’s Full Moon Branding Looks To Disrupt Tampa Nightlife One Slow Jam At A Time.
Marvel&Friends is officially back. There’s no doubt about that. Mistah Marvel’s return to the GoodKnocking Radio airwaves this past Monday was marked with another significant return: Deni Brave.
Deni joined Marvel on air to discuss nightlife in Tampa Bay, whether or not it is “dead”, and to introduce the coming of his FullMoon Branding’s signature event, Love Jones Thursdays. Set to take place on May 4th, 2017, LJT is an event bringing sophisticated vibes, 90s and Early 00’s R&B, and giving Bay area Millennials an opportunity to take part in a different kind of social event.
The event has raised some eyes, but Deni says that’s all part of the plan.
“We’re all for it,” he said during the interview. “We’re all about bringing something different, something new to our establishments. That’s where the venue comes into place.”
The venue: Foundation Coffee, located just north of Downtown in the Tampa Heights District.
“It’s not a nightclub, it’s not a restaurant, it’s not a lounge, so don’t expect to have crazy [laser] lights, the smoke and all of that. It’s a coffee shop that has a patio backdrop. And the interior has great art, great architecture. It’s going to be a good time.”
With FullMoon’s inaugural event, Deni’s looking to not only introduce an event of his own, but disrupt the nightlife environment in the Bay area by delivering on what he calls “a unique hospitality experience”. Having observed and studied events in cities such as New Orleans, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York, Full Moon’s mission is to generate an interest in nightlife as seen in those cities, and develop a new culture of its own for Tampa.
“They all go through it. For what Tampa’s been able to do, and the big transition that’s coming to Tampa in the next 2 to 3 years, it has to happen now.”
That transition he’s referring to is the wave of Chicagoans, New Yorkers, and major real estate investors who are coming to Tampa by the thousands. According to Forbes’ Karsten Strauss’ 2016 article titled, 10 Cities Americans Are Moving To Right Now, Tampa is #1 according to reports and data from Realtor.com. With the goal of investing in Tampa’s relatively inexpensive real estate, and growing need for new developments, Tampa’s everyday Millennial of Color may be seeing a completely different environment in the coming years. These new transitions, bringing us venues like Franklin Manor, as well as the gentrification of Seminole Heights, may change how young Millennials of Color enjoy their own familiar and often comfortable experiences.
The future is unclear on that horizon, but for Deni and his Full Moon Branding team, their looking forward to a successful May 4th at Love Jones Thursdays.
“It’s going to be a place we can vibe. Ladies, you can come have a glass of wine…come on out. This is going to be something you’re going to appreciate. You’ll say, ‘I really enjoyed myself and this is better than me going out on Friday or Sunday’.”
Tickets for Love Jones Thursdays are available now via Full Moon Branding’s event page.
